* Member News

Dear church family, it is with joy that I share with you this good news: on 6 April I accepted a full time position in a Brisbane consulting firm as an electricity market analyst! As many of you know, my university background is in mathematics and statistics, and I had been looking for a job in my field for a while.

My part-time role as Youth Coordinator at Mansfield was always intended to be for the short-term, but it is with bitter-sweet emotions that I have submitted my resignation to Session. It has been a joy and a privilege to serve Mansfield's young people, from the youngest kids in Kids' Talk to the ROC Youth, to the young adults. I have also enjoyed getting to know the parents and families at Mansfield through the youth ministry.

God willing I will remain actively involved as a volunteer in various ministries, including worship, Fifth Sunday services, young adult cell groups and going along as a youth leader for ROC Youth events.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your faithful prayers and support for me and for the youth ministries over the past eighteen months. Our God is good! I look forward to seeing all He has in store for us for the future, because we know that:

"We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
-Ephesians 2:10

For any future questions regarding the Kids' Talk and ROC Youth ministries, please contact Pastor Obee (0430496292).

With love in Christ,
Marike de Waard

* Queensland State Ladies Day (2 September at 9:30am)

Ladies! Please mark the date in your diary for the next Queensland State Ladies Day.
On 2 September at 9.30am, Toowoomba Christian Reformed Church Ladies will be hosting the annual state Ladies' Day. We have arranged for two speakers to come and share the day with us:
Katrina Hobbs from Emily's Voice
This organisation is the voice for the 80,000 or so unborn babies who will not be given a chance to live life outside the womb
Juliet Ballinger from Eva's Place
This organisation assists women during pregnancy and early childhood support.

Please set aside this day and come and join us for a great day of fellowship, fun and food. We are confident that you will go home knowing more about the work of these organisations and how we as women can make a difference in the Name of Christ in such a relevant area of life. We look forward to seeing you all then. More news and updates will follow.

* Wise Convention (6-11 January 2018)

It is almost time for the Youth and Young Adults Convention of the Christian Reformed Churches of Australia! The theme for the 2018 Convention is “Wise”, and this convention will focus on wisdom, specifically the wisdom of God as given to us by the book of Proverbs.

Peter Adam and Adam Schoenmaker will be our speakers. The registrations for the Convention are already open, and the early bird registration closes on the 30th of June.

* CRCA Prayer Calendar for Church Planting

As the Church Planting Taskforce we are calling the churches to pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our Denomination as we move from Easter to Pentecost.
That God would work powerfully in and through His churches to see his glory displayed as we do his kingdom work.
We are asking that we pray for each other as Christian Reformed Churches in Australia – “the great south land of the Holy Spirit”.
We would love to see God growing healthy churches that plant other churches. We recognise that this can only be done by God – so as we lead up to Pentecost this year please join us as we cry out for God to work in and through us as his people.

We have provided a prayer calendar (download here) that has all of the CRCA churches on it – we ask that you print it off and stick it on your wall or put it in your prayer diary or Bible to use as a reminder to pray for this denomination.
We have placed our newer churches and church plants on the beginning of each week to especially cover them specifically in prayer and maybe even in our Sunday Services.
Let us join together in praying for each other as we continue His kingdom work in Australia.
On behalf of the Church Planting Taskforce
Glenn Dekker
