MCRC LEAVE APPLICATION PROCESS

1. The employee fills out the MCRC Leave Application Form and signs it.

2. The employee hands the signed form to his or her manager. Employees that report directly to Session must hand their forms to the Elder for MCRC personnel.

3. It is the responsibility of the manager to ensure that the dates that the employee has requested is reasonable given the work load of the other employees and the specific circumstances of the congregation. This may require consultation with Session.

4. It is the responsibility of the manager to ensure that the employee is entitled to the requested leave type. The manager is encouraged to contact the RMM member for HR or the RMM Leader if there is any concern in this regard.

5. If the manager has fulfilled his obligations above, he approves the leave application by signing the form and places the signed form in the Bookkeeper in-tray in the church office.

6. It is the responsibility of the Bookkeeper to ensure that the employee has sufficient accrued leave for the leave type requested. The Bookkeeper will consult with the relevant manager if not enough accrued leave is available.

7. The Bookkeeper updates the leave register to reflect the leave taken and signs the form and files it for audit purposes.

8. The Bookkeeper will attach a copy of the signed Leave Application Form to the next pay slip given to the employee.

9. The Bookkeeper will ensure that the accrued leave is reflected on or attached to all of the monthly pay slips.
